How can you achieve business success in these difficult times? How can you increase sales without cutting prices so drastically you make no profit?
The answer is to use secret selling strategies.
What are “secret selling strategies”?
Secret selling strategies are marketing strategies quite different to the selling methods, closing techniques and advertising promotions used by your competitors.
“Secret Selling Strategies” is a name I coined for unusual, original marketing strategies I devised and developed at a time when my company was going through a very difficult period.
I owned a number of furniture and appliance stores. They were doing very well for a long time. Sales were excellent. But all of a sudden I noticed a drastic drop in my sales figures. My sales staff told me that this fall-off in sales coincided with the opening up of two new chain stores that had recently come to our city.
They were advertising very aggressively and selling merchandise very much the same as ours – but at far lower prices.
These two rival chain stores were competing with one another for a greater share of the market. In the process they cut prices to the bone.
I knew that if I had to sell at the same, ridiculously low prices I would soon become bankrupt. Something drastic had to be done
I spent a great deal of time giving the situation a great deal of careful thought and did a great deal of reading. I realised that my selling strategies were not creative and original. My marketing methods were too similar to the methods used by other companies.
Finally I came up with a selling plan that incorporated a number of very craftyand very creative, original, selling ideas.
How do you interpret the word “crafty”?
Some people may think of the word “crafty” as cunning and deceitful. But these selling strategies I devised were certainly not deceitful. devious or dishonest in any way.
To my mind a “craft” is a clever skill. It is a skill that not everyone possesses. These “secret selling strategies” were simply clever, ingenious methods my sales staff and I used to persuade customers to buy from us – regardless of price.
We used these techniques to close sales so effectively that price was no longer the most important factor when a customer made a buying decision.
Recently my wife finally persuaded me to sell my business and retire, something she has been encouraging to do for a long time, so that I can have more time to spend with my children and grand-children.
I now have far more time to devote, not only to my wife, children, grandchildren, but also to my favorite hobbies. These are writing and breeding, showing and training top-quality German Shepherds.
I have also been encouraged by my wife to write a book about my business experiences. This I have done. In writing this book have decided to set out in great detail all the innovative, special secret selling strategies I used, that were directly responsible for the success I was able to achieve in my business.
Although these “secret selling strategies” were originally devised for the retail trade, I have no doubt you’ll be able to adapt them to suit your own particular purpose.
